Season Review - August 06
August began with a late friendly win over Aberdeen, and ended with Everton's first league win at Tottenham in 20 years.
In between was sandwiched a Howard Kendall testimonial, a home win over Watford and a 1-1 draw at Blackburn.
After Tim Cahill and Victor Anichebe had rescued the win at Aberdeen, the Toffees slipped to a 1-0 reverse at the hands of Athletic Bilbao.
But the result was largely insignificant as fans and club officials paid tribute to the most succesful manager in the club's history.

Then, on to serious Premiership business. Everton hosted Watford in the curtain raiser and were on their way when Andy Johnson netted his first strike for the Blues after just 14 minutes.
The eventual score was 2-1 after a late Watford worrier.
Tim Cahill came off the bench with a late leveller at Ewood Park before the Toffees made the trip to White Hart lane a few days later.
Despite being reduced to ten men, Everton prevailed, Andy Johnson was again on the scoresheet in a 2-0 victory.
