Season Review 05/06
This was a campaign that started with such high hopes following qualification for the Champions League with the fourth place finish in 2004/05.
Those hopes suffered a number of major setbacks during the first two months of the campaign, with early exits from both the Champions League and the UEFA Cup - and made all the more painful by a stuttering start to the league campaign.
The character of both the fans and the players was tested to the full. But, as always, Everton Football Club responded in typically dogged fashion, climbing from the foot of the table in October to a respectable mid-table position by the end of the campaign.
A superb second-half of the season was the key to the turnaround - providing memorable moments along the way and a great deal of hope for the 2006/07 season.
