Preston North End U18s 3-6 Everton U18s
Everton Under-18s made maintained their 100 per cent start to pre-season by beating Preston North End 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.
Two days after defeating Bury 6-1, Kevin Sheedy’s scholars were again in prolific form in their second friendly of the summer.
Everton raced into a three-goal first-half lead after George Newell converted from the penalty spot, Delial Brewster netted with a tidy finish and Nathan Broadhead scored from close-range.
North End then fought back, pulling one back just before the interval and scoring twice in quick succession after the restart.
But Everton retaliated by scoring three further goals to win the game in convincing fashion.
Calum Dyson bagged a brace after twice breaking clear and finishing in impressive fashion, while Liam Walsh wrapped up the victory with a low 20-yard strike.
After the game, Sheedy told evertonfc.com: “It was another good exercise. We scored some good goals and passed the ball well at times.
“We started the second half sloppily but then we made some changes to give players an opportunity.
“We scored a further three goals, finished stronger and in full control of the game.”
