Newcastle United U21s v Everton U21s
Everton Under-21s will get another chance to experience a Premier League stadium when they travel to St James’ Park to play Newcastle United on Monday evening.
The young Blues have already run out at the Etihad Stadium this season and now they have the opportunity to grace the Magpies’ 52,000 capacity arena in what will be their fifth league fixture of the campaign.
The game will also be David Unsworth’s first in the dugout alongside Alan Stubbs following his appointment as the team’s assistant manager earlier this week.
Everton go into the game looking to consolidate their position in the top half of the table after the announcement that the league will be split into two from next season, with a new promotion/relegation format introduced from 2014/15.
The Blues will be full of confidence as they travel to the North East on the back of a 3-1 home victory over Reading a fortnight ago, courtesy of a brace from Chris Long and a goal from Tyias Browning.
Newcastle currently sit in 18th position with only one win from their four opening games.
Kick-off is at 7pm and fans can keep up to date via our Twitter page and evertonfc.com for match updates, a full report and reaction.
