Arsenal Yth v Everton Yth

Everton's Under 18s are still searching for their first win of the campaign after a narrow 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.

The Toffees squandered a one goal advantage after George Waring had put them 1-0 up early on.

The Gunners scored two quickfire second half goals to turn the game on its head and the Blues couldn't restore parity.

Everton began the game well and went close through eventual goalcorer Waring and Chris Long before taking the lead.

When the goal did arrive it was tall frontman Waring who latched on to strike partner Long's through ball to convert.

Everton remained in control and the closest the home side came to an equaliser was when keeper Mason Sptringthorpe's clearance was blocked and rebounded against the post.

After the break it was a different story with Arsenal pushing hard for an equaliser.

It arrived in the 57th minute when Isaac Hayden fired in from the edge of the box. And four minutes later they were ahead as Tarum Dawkins curled home.

Long had Everton's best chance to level things up but he could only hook over.
