June 2007
The month of June was the only month of the year when Everton weren't in action.
And there was a frustrating degree of inactivity in terms of new signings as well. But whilst some supporters were a little uneasy, there was a lot of work going on behind the scenes to ensure the manager's prime targets were captured.
Whilst fans had to be patient for their arrival, with the exception of the signing of Lukas Jutkiewicz - a player for the future - from Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee.
But whilst, on the football side, all was quiet there was a great deal of debate in the media about the issue of a vote concerning the proposed move to a new ground in Kirkby.
It polarised sections of the fanbase and underlined the passion present amongst supporters.
Plans were also announced for a tour of the USA - taking in Salt Lake City and a training camp in Los Angeles.
