Everton eventually went out at the semi-final stage to Barnsley.


Everton beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 ON THIS DAY in 1983.

The Blues' win brought Spurs' 18 FA Cup tie unbeaten run to an end after they had won the trophy in the previous two seasons.

Andy King and Graeme Sharp scored the goals that took Everton through to the quarter-finals where they were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford.
