Everton beat Stockport County 3-2 ON THIS DAY in 1996.

Stockport had almost pulled off a shock win at Goodison Park in the FA Cup Third Round, drawing 2-2 to force a replay.

The under pressure Blues withstood Stockport's attempts for an equaliser and finally won 3-2 at Edgeley Park thanks to goals from Duncan Ferguson, Graham Stuart and John Ebbrell.
