The visit of the Blues in the FA Cup Fifth Round tie attracted St. Andrew’s biggest ever crowd.

A massive 66,844 supporters turned up for the match, which saw Wally Boyles and Alex Stevenson score the goals which earned Everton a replay which they subsequently won 2-1.

Everton beat Newcastle 3-0 ON THIS DAY in 1967.

A crowd of 31,214 at St. James’ Park saw goals from Alan Ball, Jimmy Husband and John Morrissey give the Blues all two points.
