Adrian Heath was born in Stoke ON THIS DAY in 1961.
He began his career with his local side and spent three years at the Victoria Ground before a £700,000 move to Everton in 1982.
Over the next seven years he helped Everton win the League title in 1985 and 1987, the FA Cup in 1984 and the FA Charity Shield for four consecutive years.
Unfortunately severely damaged knee-ligaments ruled him out of the European Cup-Winners' Cup side.
He was sold to Aston Villa for £360,000 in 1989 and later played for Manchester City, Stoke, Burnley, Sheffield United and a second spell at Burnley, where he was later manager.
He also returned to Goodison as assistant to Howard Kendall during his third spell in charge at the club.
During his Everton career he made 293 appearances and scored 89 goals.
