Dean reached the 30 goal mark for the season after just 18 games (although he had missed one of these) in front of a crowd of 40,353 at Villa Park.

Everton went on to be crowned League Champions as Dixie Dean scored 60 goals in one season to break George Camsell's record of 59 set the previous season.


Everton beat Birmingham City 4-2 ON THIS DAY in 1960.

The Blues won the game in front of a 27,717 strong crowd.

Frank Wignall scored two with a goal apiece from Billy Bingham and Alan Tyrer.
