Bobby Parker scored a hat-trick as the Blues brushed aside the Midlanders at Villa Park.

The other goals were scored by Jimmy Galt and W. Kirsopp, and brought to an end a run of three games in which only one point had been gained.

Everton went on to win the League that season.

The Blues bat Bristol City 4-1 ON THIS DAY in 1979.

A crowd of 29,116 at Goodison Park saw Andy King score a hat-trick.

The other goal was scored by Billy Wright.
