On This Day: 04/12
Kevin Richardson was born in Newcastle ON THIS DAY in 1962.
He came through the ranks at Everton and was a member of the side that won the FA Cup in 1984, the League in 1985 and the European Cup-Winners' Cup in the same year before being sold to Watford for £225,000 in 1986.
The utility player went on to play for Arsenal, Real Sociedad, Aston Villa, Coventry, Southampton and Blackpool.
During his Everton career he made 139 appearances and scored 20 goals.
The 1-0 win over Southampton ON THIS DAY in 1993 was Howard Kendall's last game in charge in his second spell at Everton.
Two days after the game Kendall resigned.
The most successful ever Blues manager had returned to his beloved club in 1990 but he could not recreate the success he had had in his first spell in charge.
