John Bell became the first Everton player to represent Scotland ON THIS DAY in 1896.
He was selected for the side to face England in Glasgow and had already been an international player, winning three caps while playing for Dumbarton.
Scotland won the match 2-1.
Everton beat Chelsea 2-1 ON THIS DAY in 1987.
The win, at Stamford Bridge, enabled the Blues to take over at the top of the table once again.
Joe McLaughlin scored an own goal to give the Toffees the lead in the first half and Alan Harper scored in the second to secure the points.
Everton finished the league as champions.
