Everton appeared in their first FA Cup semi-final ON THIS DAY in 1893.
The match was at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane against Preston North End.
It ended in a 2-2 draw with Everton's goals coming from Edgar Chadwick and P. Gordon.
The two teams met again at Ewood Park and played out a 0-0 draw.
It was third time lucky for the Blues as they eventually got to the final after beating North End 2-1 at Trent Bridge.
Unfortunately Everton lost 0-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final.

The FA Cup Fifth Round tie had been postponed due to bad weather.
Adrian Heath and Gary Lineker scored the goals in front of 23,338 at White Hart Lane.
