The younger brother of Walter, who was also on Everton's books at the time, Robert finally broke into the side on a regular basis in 1905-06 and was initially linked at full-back with his brother.
Following Walter's departure he formed a partnership with John Maconnachie and made his final appearance during the 1911-12 season.
