With more than 100 seasons in the top flight of English Football and nine championships in the bag, Everton's league history is not simply one of longevity, but of success.
On average, every 12 seasons the League title comes to Goodison Park, a remarkable statistic in comparison with any top-flight club.
Remarkably, Everton tasted their first success while playing at Anfield, with Edgar Chadwick, Fred Geary and Alf Milward playing starring roles.
Everton also held the championship trophy when play was suspended due to the outbreak of the two World Wars - first in 1915 and then in 1939.
In 1963 and 1970 the Golden Vision and the Holy Trinity, respectively, helped the Blues to two further titles.
And last, but by no means least, Howard Kendall's superior teams were the cream of the crop in 1985 and 1987.
