This new crest represents the people that run our club...not the fans..it lacks intelligent thought and the lack of ambition of the board and directors. Shameful

Everton Announce New Manager

Everton have announced Harry Redknapp as their new manager for the 2013-2014 season. Harry will join the blues on 4th July after agreeing a 4 year deal thought to be in the region of £80,000 per week

In a statement Redknapps agent said that his client is delighted to be moving to Everton. He added that working with Bill Kenright was one of the biggest reasons for Harry's descision to join Everton

Whatever he did for us he should either still be talking EFC or out the door on garden leave. Is Pre season going to be cancelled or what. The longer this goes on, not going to help our plans for next season. No fixtures announced etc!! Probably have a few games in England to spare whatever cash we got. The usual, v Bury, go to Scotland for a week. I know the board have to take their time to get the right man in but we really need someone in before 1 June, please God.

This has been in development for nearly a year now. A team has compared designs from prominent and instantly recognisable football clubs. They've taken into account our history and the heritage of the crest. They've considered how the commercial aspect of football has modernised.

This new crest is good. It is simpler; yes, but is that not what the world is turning to now? Look at Apple - until a few months ago, the world's most valuable company. Their products were based on efficiency while looking sleek and simple. That's what has happened to our new crest. We've taken away unnecessary complications and made it more recognisable. More pronounced.

I didn't like it either back when I fist saw it a couple of months ago. It seemed like they'd removed everything Everton stood for. The motto and laurels... Where was the sense of pride? Of superiority? Then I realised, that still lives on in Everton. It's still a key part of our history and our future. Furthermore, shouldn't we be expressing ourselves by our performances and not by our design? Nevertheless, I digress. This was a bit more long-winded than I intended. I do apologise if I sound just a tad too optimistic for some, but we need to move on and realise this change is a good thing. I like the crest.
