This discussion brings me back memories of a rich childhood, I started following Everton at age 7, 19680 Gordon West was my hero. It was a different age all the kids on my road followed football through the mags of the time, none of us followed the same side and we only ever saw highlights of major games. I never realised just how much of my emotional life would be impacted by the weekly result. Over the years I have spoken with lots of green toffies and they like me are at a loss to explain the real connection that made them a blue. There is something in the DNA of the club that grabs you and no matter what, that's it, your a blue for life, The 80's to me were like a reward for all the hard times of the 70's and the sort of football we played was supblime. Let me finish with a positive about today I really like this side which is only two players away from being a serious contender.for a cup or top four slot and I hope Moyes gets the funds to fulfil his and our dreams.

You only just beat me by 3 years, as I have mentioned on the "why do you support the blues" forum page.
The days of the 69/70 league winning side through the gloomy seventies, the brilliant eighties, the so-so nineties to the near relegation seasons and now the rebirth under Moyes.

PS. The recent sacking of Kenny Doglead by the rds the worst possible news for the blues 'cos now they might get someone decent in. But I have to say that it's the team that's crap not the manager!!!!!!!!

Started when I was 7, decided in the school playground during a game of footie before assembly.
Went against the family tradition (RS) there and then but proud to be a Blue ever since.
