Why do you support Everton FC?

I was one of those who was chosen to support Everton, and this is a genuine case, as I believe it is with any blue who was born into a red family. It was my neighbour across the road who got me into Everton, I'll never know how but it was a sign that I'd been chosen to be an Evertonian.

Evertonians are born not manufactured, we do not choose we are chosen, those who understand do not need explanation, those who don't understand do not matter.

    -----------------

Oh do f'k off Andy lad, the guy over the road was taking you out in yer wheely and used you to get in for nothing.

I love that Everton wasn't at the very top of the table when I started to support them. It makes me feel like supporting them to the fullest, wishing them for the best, to improve, achieve and earn the position they get into!

And I actually love, that I'm one of the very few in my town supporting Everton FC, 'cause the so called top 4 teams got enough supporters around here, and makes me feel like an original supporter, you know, 'cause it doesn't depend on anybody that I choose and support my team besides the wonderful club itself! I got to know it and love it and i'm still learning!

Why do you support Everton FC? Let me know, I want to hear it like everybody else in here. COYB!

Being a only child my father had long gone,I was playing kick ball in the the street by myself, A friend of the family was walking bye he asked, Would I like to go to a football match and to go and ask my mum if I could go .
I ran into the ask her she said I could .I know she had to look into the bottom of her purse to find the money
At this point Vincent the family friend had come to the door to tell my mum not to worry the treat was on him ,
As we lived in Rock Ferry we had to get the train over and then the bus.
My frist sight of Goodison Park never forget it .
We went into the the ground ,climb the stairs which seem to go on for ever and then into daylight
I was in the main stand looking down on at lot of special people.............Evertonians.
The first time you see the Goodison pitch, I don,t care which team you support in the world
    Goodison Park is special
I was in dreamland for the next couple of hours
    The game itself we won
That year was special we regain our rightfull place in the top sphere of English football where we have been ever since
    The year 1954
Today my daugther and,son are true to the cause
my wife and I along with our nine year old grandson have season tickets in the Park End
I like to think the family friend Vincent is looking down with a big smile on his face.

I was born in Bristol so no geographical links and I was born in 93 so not exactly our best years in the prem that I watched as a young kid. My dad is and always has been an Everton fan but said I should choose my own team. The first game I ever saw was Everton vs Arsenal which we lost 1-3 but I decided then Everton would be my team as the underdog in the game and I haven't looked back. I wouldn't trade Everton for any team in the world a lot of which is because whilst so many clubs get these big stadiums, oil tycoon owners and are tapping up players we have always remained a traditional club that does in the right way with the right values! A family club. The Peoples Club.

I am from Malaysia and starting supporting Everton back in 1986 when I started watching footie. It was live on TV - FA Cup final against RShite..... I supported Everton the moment I saw Nevile Southall in goal against the one they have at the other end....

Coming from Belfast, all my mates supported Celtic, Liverpool or Man U. OR else they supported Celtic AND one of the other two.

I was only 7 and I didn't want to be like all the others but I loved football and wanted to support a team so my dad asked me who my favourite player was. I didn't know the guys name but I knew he played for the Republic of Ireland and had the sweetest left peg.

My dad told me the player was Kevin Sheedy.

    And that was it.

Born and bred in Oxford so no tie to merseyside. I was at primary school in the seventies and the other kids all seemed to have a football team. I wanted to support a blue team, they reeled off some names and i chose Everton! You wouldn't believe that from that fateful day in the playground i would spend thousands of pounds and travel thousands of miles to follow the blue boys. They are such a massive part of my life and i'm not ashamed to say even though i'm now 44 years old i still struggle to sleep sometimes before a big match! Sometimes the M62, M6, M42 and M40 seem to go on forever, sometimes it all goes in the blink of an eye. Still come up to some mid-week games at Goodison, don't get back until the early hours, then in to work after a few hours sleep. One final thing, i remember my first kit, the umbro one with the diamonds on the sleeves'. Great kit that Latchford, Lyons and King wore. The best thing about it though was that it had WHITE SOCKS!, are you listening nike, don't flog me off with any blue sock rubbish next year!
