The only way we CAN'T qualify for Europe

    Well if the league stays as it is and Chelsea win one of their cup finals, then that opens up another league spot doesn't it?

    Actually, I should say - If Newcastle finish 6th and Chelsea lose their finals. 

    There's a good chance another league spot will be opened up though regardless

    No, there are three Europa league spots, Liverpool already have one, any two from Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal will get the other two champions league spots and the other two will be in The Europa league. Simples.

    waht you are saying is right but and this is the only way we can get in to euro,s chelsea win the C/L and finish 5th or outside the top 4 they will go into C/L next year for winning it and 4th will play euro/l this will then get one more team form that leauge into euro/l so that will be 8 teams in C/l and E/L instead of the 7 that get in most years 9 and 8 if you count the fair play

    Top 4 = champions league (unless chlsea win, in which case top 3 plus chelsea)

    Next place in league gets europa
    rs get europa via league cup (or fa if they win that)
    Fa cup winner gets next place in europa

    if chelsea win champs league or fa cup then seventh place gets europa

    If Chelsea win the Champions League final 4th spot will no longer qualify for next year.

    That's what iv heard anyways after our excursions into the cup and Liverpool typically moaning that they have rights to defend their trophy. Hypocrytical gobsh1tes

    theres no extra place.

    4 champions league places United/city/arsenal/ possibly newcastle

    3 Europa league places. Liverpool, chelsea spurs


    And thats it

     the only thing that can now change is which team gets into which competition and at which stage i.e. qualifying rounds or group stages.


    Unless we finish above chelsea in the league europe is over

    actually we had to finish above Tottenham to get in to Europe. Since Yakubu didn't score today... blame him.
