So all these people saying Drenthe should have been selected even though he arrived an hour late for the last training session before the semi must be mad!!! How disrespectful and I am not buying this he is a bit flamboyant, etc. He is just arrogant and thinks he is bigger than the club. We have come into form and he hasn't really played much during this spell. I am disappointed as he has ability but without the slightest bit of common sense or brain, what use is it? A fair few comments about how he would have tore the sh!te apart clearly didn't see him at Anfield? A frustraing player but good luck to him and all who have to be around him! He will never make it!

yeh but we desperately needed him, i would of been happy for him to be available to come on for gueye instead of coleman and then **** him off after weve won, dont cut your nose off to spite your face :-))

Do we **** need him.. we've got Pienaar and we can hopefully pen him down to a permanent move back here.

Gueye is starting to get some game time which is only going to make him a better player and with a striker like Jelavic all he needs is the ball to be laid out in front of him and he'll score

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! We should have kept him on for the semi final and then dealt with the disciplinary issues later. The simple truth is that he looks to go forward! This is something that was so obviously missing in the second half. The team that we have are good at responding to the spark that players such as Piennar, Drenthe and Arteta provide. Take away that spark and we are just flat.
    Still gutted.....

Why should you?! In all seriousness Moyes runs a tight ship and the players work hard, are versatile and whether people believe it or not, give their all on a football field and when they don't, they end up out!! The fact he turned up late for a training session before the semi gives an indication of his commitment to the club and cause. Drenthe is the issue, not Everton, not Moyes, not the team and it would annoy me in their position. I played at a reasonable level of Saturday amateur football and if I was late for a game, I was dropped or if I didn't go to training I wouldn't be selected to start regardless of ability. Moyes is right!

completely right, they brought on maxi rodriguez and bellamy we brought on coleman and anichebe nuff said.

If it was a league match then OK but in the semi final we needed him, him coming on would of put sparked the crowd back into life and liverpool would of had to play more defensively, He shots would of caused their 3rd keeper all sorts of problems.

He could of been disciplined after the game.

psychoblue your making some great coments and observations, but i hope you were using the word, versatile players very loosly,i think its the lack of versatility that makes us middle of the road, and the obvious fact that were skint.but like i,v been saying since i was 5,theres always next season, coyb.

i'm glad this happend because i would have hated to have signed drenthe permantly for next season.  he's an extremely over rated player who only has a good shot going for him.  all he is does is fall over or lose the ball.  compare him to pieanar, who uses the ball effectively everytime and works hard and tracks back, and it makes you realize how bad of a player drenthe really is

Drenthe is a great player....its just his attitude and temprament that make him a complete disaster area.

Still wish we'd sign him though..... Newcastle would give us eight million come next jan...

dunno what makes him great.  he's got a good shot and is very direct but that's about it im affraid.  he gives the ball away all of the time.  and he fails to take on his man 9 times out of 10 as most times he falls over.  add to that the fact that he doesn't fit into the team shape or do any work makes him far from great

one of the most frustrating players i've seen at everton

they had a third choice keeper and a slow centre half.

2 things Drenthe could have exposed instead we had Cahillwho would struggleto expose himself at the moment

i would of liked to see him come off the bench but if he's late for training then sorry thats not good enough all the players know whats expected of them hes a good impact player to bring off the bench but thats about it hes a liability always likely to get booked an falls over a lot overall not a great team player

The worse he appears, the less likely he is to be snapped up by money clubs. There is no point in Moyes working on his attitude/discipline until he has signed a contract. Is he worth the effort/risk? Only Moyes can answer that. We will find out in the summer.
