Hopefully he'll get more chances in the league now seeing as we don't have a lot to play for unless we go on an amazing run (and it would really need to be amazing). I remember Moyes a while ago saying he was going to give him more oppertunities in the first team, although I don't think he was on the bench last game, he definatly should be ahead of the likes of McFadden and Anichebe.

what i dont understand is why rest 5 players in the derby ....put in 5 players basically returning from injury...then with 30 minutes to go put in 3 of the 5 rested ? and for a "reason" behind this (although he never actually said it) was the sunderland game was priority..

if he was going to do this why not just completely rest all of them and use barkeley and the fringe players....as players tire now who is he going to use ?

get barkeely in..now..he's playing for the under 18's, the reserves and engerlund u18's/19's...moyes sez he's not quite ready and he needs experience..

well he's not gonna get it on the bench is he ? what better way.. than to play in the first team ?

our team is now screaming out for that little bit of creativity that this kid allegedly can give us.....

    GET HIM IN...

I agree. Barkley would likely have been well up for the derby considering he's a local lad. What's annoyed me now more than before was that Liverpool put out the same side they had done against us minus one player and they managed to win their game comfortably enough.

All that the midweek game did was end up putting pressure on us to win at the weekend, which we didn't and now have a tough task ahead of us to reach the semi finals (which I really hope we do if only to get another chance against Liverpool)

No. No no no, no no, no no no no, no.

Every time someone brings him up, I say the same thing. I'm just gonna save this for future use. Barkley lacks the experience. He has the potential but lacks the ability. Next year he should have a go, but right now he's not ready. You're thinking that just because Rooney had exceptional ability from the word go that Barkley will as well; this is not the case. Watching Barkley in the reserve game that he last played, he **** about on the ball, tried to showboat too much and couldn't pass properly. Yes, it was a reserve game, but:

    1. If he wasn't taking the reserve game seriously he obviously lacks the ambition to break into the first team.
    2. If he was taking the reserve game seriously then he sucks. Plain and simple.

@Jxg: Where do you think he gets the experience he needs?

The "he lacks experience" line is getting old.  Even in his current state he's better than vic or gueye or coleman or (on most days) cahill.  We have a lack of creativity in the middle and we have a guy with the ability to create, and for some ungodly reason we think "he's not ready" as if others aren't already doing far worse.

    silly.

He won't play for us again this season unless we have injuries to first team players. He wasn't even on the bench on Saturday and the likes of Gueye and McFadden were picked for the 18 ahead of him.

From what I have seen of him he is nowhere near ready. Having said that we have not got much to play for in league with 10 games left so could probably try him out for the run in. Might set him up to be ready to play more next season.

The line may get old, but it still holds justice. Just because I sing the same song doesn't mean it is irrelevant.

McAleny looked a promising prospect and by all acounts is now going to leave Everton at the end of the season because of the lack of first team chances. If I was him and constantly saw **** like Anichebe getting chances I would leave. Same goes for Gueye, Anichebe gets selected infront of you and plays on the left wing!!!. Even Vellios cant get on the bench anymore and is much better than Vic Underachiebe.

Same with Barkley. He was the hero at the start of the season playing the first game. Now he is not even getting a game when we are looking to rest players? If I was him and seen that even when we are resting players or had the injuries we have had that and still being overlooked I would want out.

We need to give the youngsters a chance. Thats how Man U buildt its football domination
