Bitter Blues,

Get called a bitter blue a lot by kopites in work and it's really beginning to annoy me. Years ago I used to take it on the chin but now it just pisses me off. Watching United play Bilbao the other night was like watching Liverpool, they were hi fiving each other, cheering and celebrating Bilbao when they won.

Surely we are no bitter towards liverpool than they are towards united. In fact we don't sing about tragedies so surely that makes us less bitter.

im not bitter never have been, dont give a toss what the rs do, ive seen us win things in the 80s and now i see how bitter and twisted they are towards utd its untrue, when im watching rs games in pub with people i never jump up and down when other team scores , but when its the other way round and everton are on then they all jump up and down when the other team scores, there more bitter than we have ever been

It's a bandwaggon they have jumped on, you said it yourself azzo they are far more bitter than us. It hurts them to see how far they have fallen since the 80's, and that they are in for a long period of being outshone by the Manchester clubs as well as two or three from London.

The ones I've asked about where this 'bitter' tag came from seem to think it's because we are jealous of them. Given their club's reputation I find that rather funny, if I was a RS I'd be embarrassed to walk the streets in their kit given their history.

I'm far more in admiration of Utd's achievements in the game than our neighbours. To be honest, over the past few years I've found myself becoming more and more indifferent to the red side. Even last week's Derby debacle didn't pi$$ me off any more than defeat to say Villa would have. I think I'm growing out of the 80's style of the 'friendly derby' atmosphere that we used to have.....something seems to have poisoned that over the decades....and this 'bitter' thing is just another example of why.

We became bitter about the time they realised their grip on the perch was slipping...

Out of the original big 5 we are the only club that they finish above and therefore to try and make themselves feel better about life they call us bitter because it is exactly how they feel towards United,City, Arsenal and Spurs plus now Chelsea.

Lets hope their fall from the top continues further down the league.

to be honest...I'm a bitter blue & don't have a problem admitting it.....

I hate that liverpool got us banned from Europe in the 80's......I hate that they beat AC MIlan (who plssed all over them first half) to win the champions league, and cost us our spot in the competition....
I hate that they won the carling cup this year (and i hated that they had championship opposition in a cup final).......I hate that their in the FA Cup semi finals.......I hate that we had to play them so close to the sunderland game....i hate that things always seem to break for them (even downings goal on sunday came from a missed place pass).......I hate listening to kenny dalglish...i hate that their on tv so much, and we're hardly ever on......I hate that Goodison derbies are always on early in the season, and always on at 12:30pm never an evening kick off......I hate that they've just signed a massive kit deal with warrior....i hate that they're always classed as title contenders when they haven't come close in about 20 years......I hate that Gerrard dives and always gets away with it.......I hate that rodwell got sent off in the derby this year for nothing........I hate everything Suarez does....I hate that they got so much money for Torres.......

so am i bitter?.....its fair to say i am......

Think its more to do with the people that live in liverpool get called bitters, rather the evertonians outside the city.

everyones just pi**ed off we havent won anything in so many years, and everytime they win they rub it in our faces.  you can tell even on forums, everytime they lose someone starts a thread about it and everyone posts loads of comments, every time they win its dead on here for the next few hours.

If we went on to win the FA cup this year and we decided to rub it in their faces after many years of trophyless seasons. The RS fans will just say we won a Mickey Mouse cup or something to try and bring us down

There was never any bitterness between the teams until a couple of moments in 'history'.

We,unrelatedly, were punished for there fans actions.

That squad,in the 80's,that had just won the fifa team of the year. Was the springboard (or could of been, look at the way teams progress from success) for decades of future success.

We see this as there fault. Equates to bitterness.

Secondly. They have fallen from grace,& while they were 'top dogs'our rivalry was ''friendly''.Now united have overtook them we take the p''ss,they don't like it.

They hate utd more than we hate them & then call us bitter?

Some RN iin the pub said 'I don't give a f''ck what everton do''.

He soon shut up when I said. '' You do about Utd''.

They ,Utd,in the RS small minds are there 'new' rivals.

They didn't give a sh''t about MU until MU became more successful.

    Horrible C@nts
