If Jags plays saturday instead of Heitinga Moyes should be forced to resign at half time.

    Whatever the result.

He played centre mid for Sheffield United. After a few games at right back he'd get comfortable on the ball again.

whenever johnny has had a run of games at CB hes been good and so has the defence, remember the last time jags got a bad injury the season we got to cup final, we lost 2 in 25 games and were fantastic, some people even tipped us to be in top 4 the following season, shame it was a terrible season with jags back

I think you need to sit down and have a little think. Who scored our winner in the semi final shoot out? jagielka did. His cruciate injury came AFTER that against Man City with only 3 or 4 league games left. And our disasterous start to the following season was with Jags still out! But don't let the facts get in the way of a good
    rant.

Jagielka has been terrific for us but this season he's not been at his best.

He played center mid for us and was diabolical.

I remeber him playing 1 game in europe especially where he looked completely out of his depth.

Hdone well as a shot blocker but his passing and decision making are very poor.

As for Jonny you don't get to the world cup final as a cb without having some class

oh so scoring a penalty makes him automatic choice, so did neville , facts are since hes been out this season our results and defending has been excellent, before that our defense was poor, heitengas distribution is so much better than jagielka and his defending is just as good, top and bottom of it heitenga and disten are our best pairing if you disagree then fine

No scoring the penalty doesn't make him an automatic choice.
Scoring the penalty makes him not injured during that great run which is what you said he was!

Our second half of the season is better than the first every season - Jags or no Jags. I don't even think our defending has been better. Our defending wasn't bad to begin with. It's our creatvness that made the difference with getting shut of Saha, the arrival of Donovan while he was here, Pienaar, Jelavic and with Straq and Drenthe coming into things a bit more and even a couple of goals from Anichebe

Not sure where all the praise about Johnny's distribution comes from either - but nice of you to admit Johhny isn't actually better when it comes to his defending anyway!

By the way, all the goals on Tuesday night were the fault of Distin (for all 3), Pienaar and Drenthe. Jags gave away one bad chance when he lost on a header with Carroll which set up Swarez for a shot. That was it!

well the season after the fa cup 2009/10 jagielka missed half the season well think he only played 12 games before injury finished his season, johnnny and disten were excellent, and im not really criticising him for the derby he wasnt fit and shouldnt of played anyway, its the 1st half of this season when he was fit defensively we were very poor and we have improved as a team with johnny and disten, its not the fact that johnnys distribution is world class or anything the difference he makes is that he doesnt launch it 40 yards jagielka style missing out our midfield, he always looks to bring felliani and our other midfielders into the game and we play better football because of it, if you think jagielka should be playing or is a much better player then hietenga then thats your opinion as is my opinion on johnny and disten being a better CB pairing. we will have to agree to disagree.

Sorry beano, but that's not true.  He was flat footed all night and the rest of the defense had to cover.  We were essentially playing with 10.5 men.  It was his worst performance in memory.

You're completely mixed up. Jags' injury happened in between the FA Cup semi final and the FA Cup final. End of April or start of May 09. Jags was our player of the season for 2008/09 when we were so good defensively....We then started the following season disasterously - without Jagielka and upon losing Lescott...and Jags didn't return until Feb or Mach 2010 - so he played the LAST 12 or so games of the season (not the first 12 or so) by which time our season was already pretty much over. Just to get that straight.

I don't necessarily rate jagielka hugely (although he has had one or two very very impressive spells). But I still rate him higher than Heitinga. Johnny is **** delivering the long ball..... I have seen him playing the long straight ball many times and its one of the things that gets on my goat (although now that I think of it, maybe he hasn't done it as as much in the last few games). Even from free kicks around the half way line he'll send the ball straight over everyone and out of play....I hate it that we even let him take those free kicks....it drives me crackers.

Both Jags and Heitinga are great defenders and we're lucky to have the both of them. Heitinga should have definatly started against Liverpool if we wanted to win the game because to throw Jagielka back in along with others after 2 months out (think its been that long) is asking for trouble.

Plus if Warrington Dan says Heitinga has been good he must have been doing something right!

He also does not deserve to take the place of Distin or Heitinga. People have suggested playing him at right back due to the fact it is a problem postition and he would do a better job there than neville. We all know he is a centre back but at present our centre half positions are not the problem.

We have generally had our best results when Heitinga and Neville have been in our defense. Reason because they are not screwing up our midfield. Generally our defense has not been the major problem and therefore don't have a problem with either of them in the team. However today we need Jonny and Distin in there as they have had a good run together and Jags is coming back from injury.

I am with David lets pick the players in their position and stop this desperation of making sure all Moyes' favourites play. I hope we start with the same team that played Spurs. Will not be fussed if tony or Nev is RB and if Staq starts but the centre of defence and Midfoeld needs to be the same.
