Everton sign Nike deal......

If fans think that we'll make buckets of money from the kit deal then they are very much mistaken.

There are only a handful of deals IN THE WORLD where the manufacturers make ay real money - Manure, RS, Barcodes, England, Brazil and one or two foreign teams. That said, Warrior will be losing massive amounts with the new deal for the RS.

Why doesn't every sports shop in the world stock everton kits - simple - not enough demand. They would have to buy a number of kits in a range of sizes, and they would be left with too many.

As KHL said, it's available on tinterweb...

    -----------------

BUT, if everybody went to the 'tinterweb' to buy a kit, then the real demand through sport shops gets low, so if everybody stopped buying kits through the 'tinterweb', kits would be available everywhere, more or less of course.. so if everybody ordered kits through sport shops, the kit distribution would be bigger.

I order mine through the web ... BUT is the only one buying one in my town anyway!

    you think

    here are facts

everton have had shops all over the place - chester, birkenhead etc, all closed down as they were not making enough sales.

jjb didn't stock kits because there was insufficient demand.

So if im right and were still under the Kit Bag contract then the marketing doesnt change, Items still only to be bought at the club stores or the interweb. Poor very poor, we should be selling in all shops, we want to be seen country wide not hidden away.

i remember when the deal was done and you couldn't get an everton shirt over here for love nor money..until the following season when it was out of date..

as for the comment re tinternet..of course it's "outdoing" retail outlets..it's their biggest complaint !! and will continue to be so until John Connor takes skynet down.............

why is it great to see kits for sale in all sorts of shops? it's not an impulse purchase.

shops don;t stock them because trhere is insufficient demand, fact.

Sports shops mate, sorry you took me literally. There is nothing worse than being away somewhere and you see in a sports shop kits for and believe me this is true, Man Utd, Man City, RS, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Norwich, Aston Villa, Celtic and a host of foreign teams, in Gloucestershire !!!!! nothing of Everton anywhere, not even a pencil set.....

Kids don't buy shirts online......kids see something in the shop and pester their parents for it.......my 4 year old nephew is football mad, he has the Barcelona, man utd, celtic & ireland shirts, he wanted the chelsea shirt the last day cos he saw it (simple as, Daddy i want that!)........he never sees the Everton shirt, cause you won't find it in any shop over here.

Imagine in America the last month, millions of kids saw Landon Donovan play for us (not liverpool or man utd).......most of them will be starting to play, or already do play football with their friends/schools, so the parents will take them to the store to get kitted out.......they might want the shirt they saw Donovan wearing, but they can't get it, because of our club's decision to be amateur.........

Imagine the potential kit sales we could have had in australia for the past 5 years with Cahill's popularity.....can you buy the everton kit in shops in australia?....

i hoestly don't think you have it right, it's not about ability to distribute, it's about stores wanting to stock them.

they don't have to get one top, they have to buy a range of sizes and a number in each size, shirts, shorts and socks. it's a massive investment from them for potentially very little return.

i betchya, if kids were asking in stores in the states in any number "do you have everton donovan kits" then the stores would be looking o buy them.

Kits have a really short shelf life - new kit in the summer, usually available cheap in the jnuary sales. That meaqns any stockist buying kits will have out of date stock on their hands really quickly if they aren't being sold.

manure and rs are genuine global names with fans in every hole in the ground, and they will always sell vast amounts of kit. Everton do not offer that fan base or demand.

I know what you mean about kids and tinterweb - they hardly know how to use a mouse, do they?

or do you think it's possible that a savvy brace wearing howdie doodie being impressed with everton might look up the club on line, click on the store option and then get mom to whip out her credit card?

no i mean, kids don't use the internet to buy shirts.....the youngest, are brought to the store by their parents and pick out stuff they like...then the older kids wander into a store and buy something they see and like.....not one them will be anywhere near our online clubshop......and thats a fair size market where not capitalising on......

Im with NSNO on this one but there again im old fahioned and remember the old days of waiting for the shirt to come out in my local sports shop, as i didnt get to Goodison much when i was a little lad living in Wales. So the interweb is great for those who cant go, however it does assume that we all have access to the interweb. Have heard people on here say that its not been working too well at times though, so swings and roundabouts, could sell out in the shops too i suppose. But ill say it again, nothing better than seeing your club shirt wherever you go, which doesnt happen these days, thought thats what marketing was all about, spreading the word or the product. Sad for the club if as you say there is no call for us elsewhere, something is not right there, we used to be the Famous EFC.

sadly, sales are really poor compared to other bigger clubs, which is why :-

    1. no one stocks them
    2. no one makes forgeries

that's teh fact, but some people prefer to use it as a stick to beat the club with.

dont understand why they cant get them..all you have to do is go online...dont they have t'internet in good old US of A ?

I am not aware of a problem. If you order from the Everton website and you live in the USA, the order is filled by a company in Connecticut.
Everton shirts are not common in a general sporting goods store, where you'll get Man U, City, Barcelona, etc., along with the local MLS side and maybe a few Mexican teams, but if you go to a place that specializes in soccer it's totally available.

I think that Nike make good kits, and I doubt they will make pink away kits! But it all depends on how much money EFC make and if we make £30M over three years with Nike I will be very happy.

Villa have had a runround with nike because there focus is elsewhere so theyve had kits turn up late etc... have third choice on training colours etc...

Re distribution i'm sure nike will be able to sell through their own stores if they choose
