You can't ask him to repay cash for his mistakes becuase you would then have to reward him for all the goals over the years

I'll put the thread back on track for you.

Neville cost us nothing. He has played in that position many times before, without a hitch. He made a simple, single error, that is all. The team lost 0-3. Neville cannot be blamed for the other two goals, or for the fact that we did not score at all.

It's funny many a time it falls for him on the edge of the box, time to take a touch and put his foot through it, yet he takes a touch to controll it and pass it wide behind the run of an advancing Coleman, leaving Coleman to either beat his man or play it back to Neville who no one seems to mark these days. Move broken down, this is the main reason I don't want Neville, could live with him as reserve full back.

Anyone agree this is the type of footy we don't want?

but surely his mistake led to us being in a state of despair which allowed wigan to capitalise and get a third goal which ultimately ended the contest.

If Barkley had made that mistake, we would never have heard about him ever again! after being banished to the under 9's for 3 seasons he would be eventually released for turning into another Michael Johnson of Man City type character!

But your right, there was more than just one person to point the finger of blame at. starting with the manager.

I can't understand why the manager has come in for so much abuse. It is not as if he can go out on the pitch himself. The whole team played badly, no doubt, but who could have expected Wigan to score three inside four minutes? It was a freak occurrence. The other factor that has been ignored is that Wigan were very good anyway- their performance would have graced a top four side. Our performance last week, against Reading, was promising- Moyes was the manager on that occasion too, as I remember it. We may groan when he puts Neville in Gibson's place, Fellaini up front, Naismith on the right wing etc. etc. but, for the most part this season, it has worked.

Charlie, seriously pal? The players looked disinterested from the start, lacked direction, lacked motivation.....that boils down to the manager fella.....you think when we look at the team sheet and see Gibson on the bench and Neville CM, do you think the players dont think and see the same things as what we do, and perhaps question why that is happening?? cos if it were me mate, i would be wondering why we aint playing our strongest side at home in the q/f of the cup when we could have the chance of winning a trophy.

Do you know what Moyes problem is? he think he can rest players like SAF does at man utd and get away with it, but, he cant, do you know why? Because we are Everton not Man Utd, and he is David Moyes not Sir Alex Ferguson, we dont have the luxury of being able to f_ck about like he does with resting and not resting players.

I agree that the players had a half-hearted look about them. What I can't understand is why they would lack motivation, especially considering that they looked full of vim against Reading. The only questionable selection was Neville in place of Gibson- it was not exactly a team of reserves.

That is the point for me- why did a strong-looking team underperform? I can only speculate that, during the week, Moyes' contract negotiations hit a sticky patch (for example BK told him that there was no way he would get any more funds, so he told Bill to eff off- that sort of thing). It will be interesting to see what happens against City.

It will be interesting to see if there is a back lash and a good performance. If not, i think it would be the end of moyes come the end of the season.
