Newbie seeks advice on first match

    Hi all,

    Long time fan but 1st time poster. For the longest time I have been hoping to bring my son over to England for his first match, have my heart set on the QPR game in April as his godmother is a QPR fan and would be three of us travelling over.
    So have looked and seen that flights are perfect for us, 2 things I am stuck on is...
    A) how / Where do you buy match tickets? I have googled and can only get 1 ticket in 1 section, 1 in another etc. Was hoping to get family enclosure but this seems impossible.
    B ) if tickets work out, could anyone recommend cheap / cheerful and local accomodation?

    Tickets for QPR aren't on general release yet but should be in the next few weeks.


    You'll need to register to get a customer number which you will need to be able to book the tickets. When you buy them you can choose to pick them up from the box office at the ground on the day of the game.

    You won't find much accommodation near the ground. Not too far from the city centre so just look there. As I dont know your budget I cant really suggest anywhere.

    there is a travelodge about 3 miles away from Goodison costing about £40.00 a night

    Stay in Cheshire and drive in. Travelodge J20 M6.

    Near to Manchester airport too. You'd be mad to stay in Liverpool. Full of criminals.

    Some of the crimes on that map are for antisocial behaviour, in the immediate vicinity of Goodison Park! There were another two at the end of Goodison Road: one "Burglary" and another, "Other Theft." Presumably the burglar was mugged as he walked home.

    speaking of sausage......had a sausage sarnie (home made) this morning with sausage from a farm shop on the A59 heading towards Harrogate. Proper sausage lik,e not like that cack they serve up in the supermarkets, tasted like sausage should taste.

    You thought about opening a farm shop?

    They're everywhere round here. Got one about 400 yards away. Dairy farm. F'kin stinks. I bought some lovely saussies yesterday from butchers in Knutsford. Thai spiced saussies.
