"Everybody wants to kick Messi because it
is the only way to stop him, but all he ever does is sort of smile, get
up and get on with it, and then does it again.

"So I have told Fellaini he has to copy that. I don't think he'll
ever be as good as that
, but certainly in his temperament, he should try
to be similar to Lionel Messi, who looks as if he just gets on and
accepts that people have to try to stop him some way..."

Obviously its true but why even say it. His degradation of the team and now players is kinda getting too much for me. Playing our chances down for fourth. Just brush off the question and have them move on if you don't want to say that we have a good chance of achieving something.

Seriously?  Did you watch the interview when he made that statement?  I did.  There was nothing negative in the way he was talking about Fellaini.  You are reading too much into to his comments.

As for our chances of 4th, all he said was he thinks "it's going to be more difficult now".  And rightfully so.. that's what happens when you drop points at Norwich.  Moyes is realistic and isn't going to give hollow and meaningless statements about where the club is at.  He is not gonna try to sugar coat our current position.  We are chasing 4th place.. not in the driver seat anymore.

Agreed mate, think u are reading too much into it EFCNSNO. But he has never been the sort of person who really encourages people in the media, just the occasional 'the boys playing ok at mo, but he can still raise his game'.

    Gorra love him tho eh.

Well said! We have enough speculation and quotes being taken out of context from the media without our are own fans having a go to

I just hope players and fans alike are well up for this tonight, make Goodison bounce and Oldham will shhit themselves

Jesus christ its like none of you actually read my post after the quote ... i said that its obviously true felli will never get near messi but its not something that needs to be said ... i never said that he should be saying that felli will be that good or that we have a good chance of qualifying for fourth, as i said he should just brush questions like that off ... and further more im not reading anymore into it than what is printed as a quote so either sky are dishonest journos or that is what he said ... my whole point is he rarely ever seems positive about the players and obviously its just a media interview and he could be bigging them up in the dressing room but its nice to think that you manager doesn't have to be negative in interviews ... i would assume most managers responding to a question like ("what do you think about you chances for ______") would say something along the lines of ("theres still plenty of season to be played so its useless to speculate now") that is all im asking for instead of telling the world, and players, that our chances are slim

im not contending whether or not his intention behind the statement was good or bad im saying that the statement doesnt need to be made ... just leave it at be more like messi in response to abuse ... and also im not asking for him to sugar coat anything, which you would have realized if you read my post i specifically said that IF he is not going to be ultra positive (which i didnt say i wanted) then he should just be neutral instead of negative
