i thought goalkeepers were only allowed to hold the ball in free play for 6 seconds??

    on average it must be double that.

    i think its one of those rules that refs dont really give a_shit about or anyone else really tbh, but it would certainly become an issue if it was to affect a game of media importance like

    well technically Jase, its actually time wasting, IF ref;'s started to give indirect free-kicks for it then goalies would stop doing it.

    But like you say, its like an under written rule that gets ignored cos its too much hastle!

    exactly mate, it becomes a rule tha comes more into play towards the end of a match, but i can be a bit sad sometimes and when a keeper is holding the ball, i'll start counting and i've noticed that most of the time, especially early on in a match, keepers can hold the ball for a few more seconds than that before they will let go

    but keepers let go because they know of the rule, but still try to keep it in their hands that few seconds longer and i think they all know they can all get away with it if they dont take the_piss like

    hahahahaha, me too mate that's what made me bring it up, was sat there tonight counting (not for the first time i hasten to add) thinking how do they get away with it lol

    Refs should be quartered for every time they let a keeper have more than 6 seconds with the ball in there hand, that would stop them not giving a frig about the rule, effing nib ends!
