Why we struggle to score goals......

    its not just Jelavic' fault.

We have a whole team of NONE scorers.

Defenders dont often score, we are lucky that we have Baines who usually nicks 5 or 6 a season.

    Midfielders....

Pienaar never been a prolific scoring midfielder, cant shoot being one of the main reasons.

    Osman, same as Pienaar really....

Mirrallas...broken season so we cant see what he can really do as yet....

Gibson, great passing range, never been one to score lots of goals...

Coleman whether RB or RM, doesn't score many, lucky to get 4 a season.

Fellaini, got a few this season, but, its hit and miss, usually grabs 5 or 6.

Onto the strikers, Jelavic misfiring, and Anichebe if he grabbed 10 in the season we would be over the moon.

The point im getting round to making, is, that we are set up NOT to score goals....you look through the whole team and straight away i think if the striker doesnt score, who the hell is going to grab us a goal?? IMO, If moyes stays, and IF we sell Fellaini, he wants to be looking at buying players who actually WANT or LIKE to score.....we have a team of players that like to pass the ball around and look pretty, we LACK penetration and we LACK players that either want to get forward and score or get forward and MAKE things happen so some body else can score.

Be honest now people, outside of Baines, Jelavic and Fellaini WHO else are you confident will score us a goal?? Cos outside those 3 i look around and think god if they dont fire its going to be a long afternoon's work.......if we had goal scoring midfielders who you could look at at the start of the season and think that they will def get us 8 or 9 goals a piece, it would take the pressure off the striker some what, And if we can see that there isn;t much goals in the team, the strikers must see that too and thats added pressure even before the game has kicked off!

In short, we NEED to look at bringing in goal scoring players all areas of the pitch, stop relying on the same faces to scroe every week, its madness!

Spot on....Having said that, goalscoring midfielders are a rare commodity, when they come along they cost a fortune. Defenders that score, dont bother me much, if they get 5-10 between them, fine so long as that means theyre not conceding goals. The Jelavic thing has been mainly because of Fellaini up front has changed the type of ball he's getting and he's been unlucky too at times...
