Just out of interest..... Moyes

Few questions to see what people think of the situation.... although granted, following a defeat to Norwich might not be the best of times... but here goes:

Do you want Moyes to be managing Everton next season?

Which do you think has done our recent form more damage, Moyes contract situation or Everton's January transfer window failures?

Do you expect David Moyes to be managing Everton next season?

Yes I want Moyes to be our manager next season.

I believe our squad is lacking numbers and we needed 1 or 2 fresh first team players in january, the moyes situation has been the same since august so thats had no affect whatsoever.

Sadly, I cant see us getting into europe (not even europa league) and dont see a reason for moyes to stay

no i want a change, maybe we not got a squad good enough for top 4 but with moyes constantly saying were punching above our weight is just poor, he should be motivating the team not telling them there not good enough., hes on top 4 wages but has a top 10 mentality, and yes no signings in january has damaged our chances, and i only expect moyes to be here if nothing better comes along, hes not showing our club any respect now, just dont offer him a new contract .

    Tough questions mate, but....

    1) YES because of the stability he brings......then NO because we just seem to be stuck in mud, neither progressing or regressing.

    2) i think both are having an affect, as for the lack of signings you could argue Gibson, Coleman and Mirrallas have hardly played so they should be fresh players and you could argue the players should be professional enough to put the contract issue to the back of their minds......it didn't affect them first half of the season, so why now, the situation is still the same.....

    3) i fully expect him to still be at the helm next season.

I personally thnik the best thing that could happen is selling fellaini......we put too much emphasis on everything going through him....makes us predictable, but like most managers, moyes is too stubborn and persists with it, A lot of my mates support Man U, and they complain about Fergie's stubbornness all the time, its almost like, if it isn;t working, al make it work, rather than it dawning (staight away anyway) on them to try something different. BUT, Moyes usually finds another way, he just hasn;t had that eureka moment as yet, Expect it to happen in the next week or 2.

I'd like to see Moyes be our manager next season but for me I think he has to try a bit of a different approach regarding the cups. Fair enough you can come a cropper in the fixtures but to think he couldn't have, in all his years here, what Swansea have now doesn't reflect well on him.

The transfer window was a tough one as the way it went seemed to produce its own expectation... who knew or expected us to start throwing money around on Fer and that striker I can't remember who we had a dart for... I feel it has put a downer on things as far as Moyes is concerned. He made the comment "it wasn't for lack of trying thats for sure"... I got the feeling that Moyes, after Fernandez, Ofoe and Fer, would like someone who delivered rather than perspired to be handling business during our transfer windows. Also, much as I wasn't reading too much into Moyes winding down his contract, he generally makes a point with the board when he can, the number (and range... Mirallas!) of players talking about it in the media suggests that it is on their minds a bit, especially with results going the way they have.

I'm unsure if Moyes will be manager next season. Personally I'm not bothered if we are in the Europa or not, each position has its pros and cons. But I'd like to think that the new TV money plus whatever we get for Fellaini will be enough for Moyes to re-invigorate the team... Just as he did with the Rooney money, which was spent, recouped in places, and spent again, etc... but right now I feel Moyes needs sizable cash to continue.

3 people out of 4 want Moyes to be manager next season...

To be honest, and given the state of this place of late... expected it to be less than that

    Good post....

    1. Yes I want Moyes as manager next season....but I want him to sign NOW, not in the summer.....

    2. I think the uncertainty about moyes is having a damaging effect...just like it did at spurs last season when harry was being linked with England.......i don't think moyes' recent negativity is helping either.

    3. No I think Moyes will leave.....i certainly think he wants to leave......only way he ends up staying is if no bigger club comes in for him ( which is possible).....i think he's cautious nature cost him the spurs job last summer, but I kinda got a hunch about him going to arsenal this summer.....

    1. Time for change. Moyes is stale and he isnt looking as interested.

    2. Team are tired and on life support. Nothing to do with moyes contract. Players look lethargic and disinterested. We were devastating early season and look utter toilet now.

    3. Tough one. It wouldnt surprise me either way.

Thats because most of the people that call for his head only come on when we've lost and offer critcism....and not the constructive kind.

    1) Unless something changes dramatically in a financial sense for Everton then its time for Moyes to go. He has done an excellent job but his motivation has dwindled, he has let his contract run down, mentioned about managing in Germany so he is considering his future whether we like it or not. For me you need a manager who is focused and motivated on the job.

    2) Unsure, don't think it helps as I'm pretty sure players will be wondering why he is letting his contract run down and not committing his future, they may see that as if he doesn't believe Everton can bring the goals he is aspiring too! Thats what it tells me, don't blame him either.

    3) Unsure, if not better offers come along he'll extend for one or two years with a get out clause.

Personally I'd let him go now, we might get lucky with a new manager. It all needs freshening up, I'd let Fellaini go as the constant speculation will be a distraction, and for £25M+ I'm sure we can find a goal scoring no.10 which is effectively what he is right now. I wouldn't let Baines go but I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to go as he is hard to replace.

New manager fresh approach will do everyone good, even the fans but as we know new managers need time and it might go backwards initially as it did for Moyes. But we waited 11 years and won nothing so i'm happy to give another manager a few years and maybe we'll get lucky in a cup.

just to add I have always been supportive of Moyes and not one of these that come out of the wood work when Everton lose. I just think Moyes has run his course with Everton now.

If we had the backing which got Moyes motivated then yeah I want him to stay, but we aren't going to have £30M+ to spend next season and keep all the players which is what he would want.

Thing is though, in all seriousness, I can't see Moyes managing a club with more money to spend in the summer than Everton.

We looked to have at least 10 million to spend. Probably the new TV deal but still. And you can't really argue that Fellaini wouldn't take a CL move if offered, and why not. What have Everton ever done for Belgium? 25million maybe a touch more.

So given what we didn't spend in the summer, Fellaini and a board desperate to keep him... who else is going to give Moyes 30-35 million plus and let him spend it how he wants?

I don't know where this issue about stability came in regarding Moyes.   After agent Johnstone **** us over..we were a team of bad players....but....that is certainly not the case today.  Even when we lose Fellaini and Baines in the summer  we are still a reasonable team.  It is time for a new approach with an attack minded manager.....So...Who will it be.

Chelsea job could be a possibility, he'd be mad to take it but maybe he believes he can give them that edge. They have a great squad, but i'd sell Torres though!

Unsure what Man City might do, i'd be surprised if they went for Moyes although they seem quite rational owners compared to those at other clubs. The only other jobs would be Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd but they aren't changing managers.

He might fancy a stint abroad

I suppose with Moyes stability isn't being static.... more in a reliable, constant if modest, improvement. Although I suppose it is feeling a little static now... hence the frustration.

Maybe thats why he mentioned Germany... people have made a lot about him not managing in the CL... maybe his profile over here, and Germany being more interested in their youth system would see him getting a position at a CL club over there. I can't see Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal going for Moyes currently.

    1.  No.... I am bored... Its like a stale relationship going nowhere...  Its like having the good old girlfriend, same positions, same conversations, same everything...  We cannot and will not progress any further under him, money or no money... There is a side of me who would be scared to hand him 50 million...  EVERY season is exactly the same, exactly....I would hate him to spend a lot on a striker, he would most certainly ruin him no matter who it is...   I just want someone with a bit more balls, might risk something now and then.... Im afraid all the above comments is how moyes has made us think, SAFE and STABLE, same as what happened after Jags scored against Oldham and Norwich, try to defend leads instead of just playing the same way......

Sorry Cup, i cant write any more... Just bores me thinking about it
