What can Moyes do when his best striker stops scoring?

At the start of this season we all thought Jelavic was going to carry on from where he left off last season and continue with his one touch it's in the net goal scoring. Well obviously that hasn't been the case. For whatever reasons, and I'm sure Moyes is as much in the dark as the rest of us, Jelavic has simply lost the plot. He doesn't look like he could score if his life depended on it. Moyes couldn't have predicted this. Nobody could. He strengthened his squad as best he could with the funds available to him last summer.

We're not going to get forth place and realistically probably never were. Our squad is too small and has too many weaknesses, right back, goalkeeper, central midfield, and unexpectedly forwards, for Moyes to adequately fix without far more cash than we have.

Expectations, especially after the Man U and Villa results became ridiculously high. Now because those expectations haven't panned out it's all Moyes's fault.

Let me tell you something managers are much of a muchness. One has much the same ability to produce a successful team as another. It's basically a question of resources. I doubt very much that Ferguson, Mancini, Mourinho, etc etc are any better than Moyes they simply have more money to chuck away on transfer fees and wages.

Until the cash problem is sorted we can change managers until we are as blue in the face as our shirts but we will still be in the same position always playing catch up and trying to build a good side on a shoestring.

One more point. Maybe the real problem here is the fact that the RS have almost caught us up and in all probability will catch and overtake us. It's disapointing but again they were able to spend 20 mil on a forward and midfield player in January. We on the other hand didn't get anyone of note. I'm sure Moyes wanted to get players in but we just can't afford that kind of spending. It's the illustration of my point. Brendan Rodgers isn't a better manager than David Moyes. He just has more money. It's frustrating but we have to be realistic. We do OK. If we want more success then we have to get better players without bankrupting the club. After all I'm sure none of us want Everton to be the next Leeds or Portsmouth.
