I said the other day that Arsenal could be attractive to him.

I'm not really sure what his point is. He says "no-one wants to penny pinch for his entire career" where he has to sell to buy....then he proceeds to eliminate all the big spending clubs as possible destinations for Moyes, and settles on Arsenal because "Arsenal likes to save money. Moyes is used to economizing. Arsenal makes decent players better and sells them. Moyes makes decent players better and keeps them"

    Self contradictory much?

It's certainly clumsy but then most journalism is these days - wonder if that is because of the pressures of having to get something online in a hurry.  Anyway I digress.  Arsenal are not irresponsible with their cash like Chelsea/City... they are run as a proper business... but they certainly have cash to spend.

Why don't they ever spend any then? Over the last 3 years, their net spend is minus £2 Million!

It's one thing for Moyes to accept a broke club like Everton not giving him money to spend, except (most of) what he has generated himself in sales.

It's a different ask altogether to accept not being given money by a Champions Leage club with a sold out 60,000 seater stadium ever week.

I genuinely believe it is down to Wenger's reluctance to spend more than the amount he feels is value for a player. That is the nature of the man.

Arsenal are a business, they have been waiting for this Financial Fair Play malarky to kick in for years now. They do have a high wage bill though.

azzo is right about Arsenal being a business.

the rumours are arsenal have 70 million to spend this summer.

the other important factor is, arsenal have a brand spanking shiny new 60,000 seater stadium, which has taken some paying for, and i think this is the main contributing factor for arsenal not spending much (if anything net wise) in the ladt few years.

and if Arsenal have Moyes and Alex Ferguson retires they will have the top Brittish coach in the PL table -
maybe the officials will take note of that and Arsenals fortunes will change

Think Moyes would do well at Arsenal...
