Moyes comments.....

DAVID MOYES has laid bare concerns Everton's season could fade with a whimper due to the burden placed on his squad.

Everton are in sixth place following Sunday's defeat by Manchester United and are struggling to recover their early-season verve.

"We are asking people such as Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar - who we rely on heavily - and Leighton Baines to put a big shift in and do it for us every week," said Moyes.

"Maybe the numbers will allow us to have a good half season, but not a good full one. I hope I am wrong."

Feckin stupid comments to make, why give the players an accuse......plus i don't fully buy into this sob story that we don't have a squad.....he can easily rest Baines from time to time (with Oviedo or Distin), but he choses not to.....same with Pienaar (oviedo or Mirallas)...and he could have given Barkley a few games and chose not to......he barely uses Vellios....

against the top 8 teams we need to use our stongest 11...but outside of that, Moyes could easily be using his squad better, and resting key players throughout the season.....

He knows he won't make 4th..... and he is about to be out of contract. Does it put pressure on the board to come up with some cash?

We all assume fellaini will go. He sounds like he wants to as well. That will be a decent sum.... but Moyes would do well to insist on having more than the money he'll get for any sales to spend. Maybe this helps him make that point.

Absolutely spot on NSNO...players like Oviedo, Barkley, Hitz & Vellios must get frustrated at their lack of opportunities.

Baines was even playing despite an on-going ankle injury recently...why ?

This was yesterday's news and I have been saying similar about these comments from Moyes. I doesn't make much sense to me. Are the players alot more tired than February last year and February the year before when we excelled? Why would they be?

Because our best players didn't get a proper rest during the summer, maybe.

i think if the board couldn't get any deals done last month (the leroy fer deal may have been unlucky, or maybe we were over cautious with his medical), i don't see them being much better in the summer (when every club will have new TV money anyways)......Moyes knows things aren't gonna change.......only way he signs a new contract with us, is if no one else comes in for him......

yeah thats what i don't get...... we don't have Europa league football, we went out early in the Carling cup, and we haven't needed any replays yet in the FA Cup....so why should we be trired in fecking february?.......Fellaini had the christmas off to recharge.....Mirallas has only played half the games...same with Gibson, and anichebe.....when coleman's back he's totally fresh...Heitinga Jags & Distin have rotated........so the only players he needs to worry about are Ossie Baines & Pienaar, so rest them for a game or two here and there.....
Bizarre comment to make by him it really is.......

Ok, the question koolhandluke is waiting for:

What did Moyes originally intend to say?

Thats a bit pessimistic.... I think Moyes will have better luck in the summer. If anything he'll be keen not to leave it to the last minute this time out.... and this is a club thats done good business last minute in the past.

If there is one thing Moyes knows he'll have if he stays its money.... along with a team that are all his picks and a club and chairman who support him.... there aren't many better places to be as a manager when you are used to having no money

im surprised no one has mentioned the fact that their preseason was shorter and less intense ... moyes tried it to have a good first half of the season because we were apparently too tired to compete in the first half of seasons before and now we are too tired in the second half ... wtf is that about

maybe use your fecking squad then, you wont give anyone a chance , osman and pienaar have been poor and you have players who can come in to the squad and you wont even take a risk with the likes of oviedo, duffy, vellios etc, you never know they may do a good job if you gave your young players a fecking chance, show a bit of trust ffs

"if there is one thing Moyes knows 'e'll 'ave..its money"..breathtakin comment like.
Before Jan 'e consistently said 'e needed new blood...loans a' the very least,an tha' 'e would bring them in.
Now?..No signings(forget the 18yr old who'll make fck all difference this season),no loans, only complaints abar 'ow tired 'is players are.No' a word o' criticism for a board who 'ave failed the club again an again an again.
'ow many ground'og days can one club 'ave like? No' to mention little matter o'  no' a penny bein spent on a stadium.

We're probably the one club in the Premier League who would benefit most from a winter break.

    Make it happen!

problem with a winter break is, I bet all the teams will f*ck off to Dubai to play in friendly tournaments.....and our squad will come back more tired and with more injuries....

yep, plenty of homes games this season where we could have rested Osman & played 4-4-2 with fellaini dropping back to centre midfield & vellios partnering Jelavic.....
