Government Prem Plans...

The government has come out saying prem clubs need to be transparent over ownership and finances. That the fans have a right to know exactly who owners their club and how much they own, etc, and where the money goes. The Government says they will force Premiership clubs to do it if they don't get their own houses in order.

What could this mean for Everton and the Blue Union? I mean, there is all sorts of speculation over Everton's ownership. Loans from companies in the Cayman Islands.... Mr Green, etc. Its pretty much all the Blue Union have to cling on to, bless them.

I'm not sure we need to know and I'm very sure these blue union chaps need something vague and shadowy to keep themselves occupied and off the streets

And also, lets not mess about. The "fit and proper persons test" has been a roaring success hasn't it! Does anyone have an faith in the powers that be to meaningfully enforce it?

Well, they've said it now... they'll have to do something.

Its a private business though, so its up to the owners in my view. Should football clubs be private businesses... thats another question.

why stop at just the premier league, shouldnt all business' be transparent?

Maybe then the likes of Jessops, Game, HMV and the like wouldn't be able to rack up 10's of millions of pounds worht of debt then and be ran into the ground whilst people milk as much money out of it as they can.

F_cking hate it, winds me up something chronic.

Even then a company registered at companies house which is, or has shares, owned by another company registered elsewhere... where the law is less transparent.

The premier league says its 'reasonably confident' that it knows who owns the clubs that play in its competition. But it is under no obligation to make the fans aware of any of those details either.

Just wonder if it will cause any movement from the Everton board ahead of any new rules coming in. Or will it just prove a devastating blow for the blue union followers who are convinced that Philip Green owns Everton.

I'm not arsed to be homnest... once you go down this route, stock lists football clubs... its done and dusted, not point carping on about it. Just wonder how it will effect our club or another.

If all was as it seems in the premiership world... the government wouldn't be dicking around with this subject.

we should just thik ourselves lucky we haven't had some of the d1ks who have owned barnsley !!

there was one guy named Doyle...runs a "security consultancy" business ie bouncers on the doors etc...

he threw kevin keegan out of the indoor facility when we were all having an FA in house training day..so he could play in the pitch with his mates...one of his mates had this great big bull mastiff with him that shat on the pitch whilst he was chucking keegan off it...

    we love you bill !!

Good thread bu' hard t' take seriously.
yer the only one who mentions the BU on 'ere are yer tryin t' provoke a response or just a poor mans propagandist.
Were the BU responsible for collapse of yet another transfer deal on spurious grounds?  sure they were..like all the other ones.
there is indeed a lot t' be said abar bluebill..we might hear a little from Moyes after 'e leaves I doubt it though.
I wonder how 'is successor will persuade bill t' strengthen if Moyes can't.
Still..as long as 'e 'as lids like you actin like Goebells the k**b'eads 'ere will doubtless be cowed..fair play like.

In all fairness, I've done nothing but take the **** out of the blue union on here. There deserve nothing more.

There is no hiding my belief that the blue union is made up of half wits. There is no propaganda...no spin, or agenda. It is what it is.

I do make the point though that while there is still room for secrets in the ownership of football clubs, room which the government of the day would like to remove, there is still room for these delusional people to cling onto their beliefs. Which, by the looks of things, is probably the best thing for them. In all seriousness.

That was the point of the thread... you do make a valid point though... no one else has bothered to comment on the blue union part of the OP. Which is as good a sign as any of their irrelevance.
