How should I stop gambling?

    I like a bit of poker but no when to stop.
    Usually I end up subbing the misses and breaking even.

    I've sat in meeting with people who have stole from their families, owe money to paramilitaries, locked their kids in the car while they've went into the bookies...I've seen it all.

    One bloke was given money by his wife to take his son into town to get him a new pair of football boots. Took his son into town, left him in the car and spent all the dough in the bookies.

    Google "EFT Master Practitioner" for your area, and its something that has a massive success rate for addictions mate, thats advice from the Mrs who knows about these things.....

    IdiAminDaDa, I drink plenty of a weekend as it is!

    JayMcD, I mainly gamble on football of a weekend. I spend on average £80 a weekend on gambling and I just don't have it. Just hard to stop.

    Deus Ex Machina, any suggestions? I feel the need for adrenaline again. I lost it when I stopped playing football.

    your half way there mate and good to see you have realised its a problem, i know we have a laugh and a joke and stuff on here but theres a lot of good kinds on here who are always happy to help out someone in need of advice. good luck and hope you manage to sort out your problem

    Depends on how much income you get and whether you have a family to support.
    Get some help, it can't hurt.. Admission is a good start.

    I played a lot of fruit machines when I was young, use to sub my wages doing it, but it ain't that easy now and I just think to myself 78% payout says it all, plus nipping in the pub means usually a ten pound pint.

    Feel free mate...I've looked into EFT before for aomething else and I'm not knocking it in anyway....you may feel it's best for you but if you want to message me just to get stuff off your chest feel free....the first step is to admit you have a problem and you've already done that....so well done!

    I only get about 800 a month, and as I say have 2 loans to pay off. This was for 3 holidays last year for all my friend's 21st birthdays (only young once) for a new laptop and other stuff. And the rest I used to gamble. I get bored far to easily and have poor concentration. I don't have a family to support but I do have a girlfriend who I've been with for 2 years. You all do seem like good men of the world :)
