stones, probably see him in 3 years time out on loan to huddersfield or somwere, has moyes signed any young players who have actually come through, the likes of vellios, gueye and a few others havent progressed into first team players, maybe coleman, and maybe you could say fellaini he did cost 15 million tho and was playing top class football, but in 10 years what players of the type of stones have actually progressed under moyes, rodwell totally bombed out and barkley isnt setting the world on fire, joa silva was one rated one for the future but never got a look in as well. mustaphi was signed from a german side and was said to have a really good future but were is he, most fall by the wayside

If he's worth 3 million then surely he's one for now. We're lacking players for RB right now so we should be using him. I just can't understand Moyes' reluctance to try some of these younger players when its obvious we need something new. If we can't afford new players then lets cultivate that we actually have.

If he has the ability I'd start giving him games in a year to year and a half. Loan him out next season . Thats what I'd do in Football manager. I have 75% win percentage after 5 years at Everton..I know me stuff like!

I'd rather Stones spend time getting used to our style of play in defence(if we have one), the tendencies of the players in front of him and just generally get used to being at Everton before giving him a start. He's been at a much lower level until now and throwing him in at the deep end at this level could knock him way back. If he came straight in and made a mistake the usual suspects would rip him and Moyes a new one, bleating about how **** he is and that we've wasted £3m.

Some of our so called fans make things so much harder than they need be.

Imo, it doesn't matter what level you're coming from, the PL is a big step up, and for a young man of 18 it's a huge step. It's not like bringing through a striker, where mistakes are largely forgotten; if he makes a mistake in defence it could lose us the match. Look at the Da Silva's at MU, Fergie brought them through slowly, bit by bit, and taught them their trade to go with their skills. Now both are PL standard and have no doubts about their ability.

well moyes needs to start taking a chance our youngsters are falling by the wayside and were bringing through next to nothing, everyone gets sent out on loan and forgotten, look at vellios he came in did well but hasnt had a look in really since, same for duffy he had a few games did well and not been seen since really , there are some good young players playing regularly in the prem and if there good enough and got what it takes they can shake off the odd mistake, the problem is moyes wont play any of them, all we hear about is our wonderful academy and the good young players we have, but teams like the RS who have probably more pressure on them to do well at least give young players a chance WE DONT

Given the style of football we play, that Moyes wants us to play, I'd say it's pretty tough to find youths that are up to the task on our budget. We're scraping the bottom of the financial barrel most of the time, in the hope one or two will develop to the necessary standard. The fact most don't just shows you that if you want the best prospects you have to pay properly for them, something we can very rarely do.

When Moyes was given proper money to spend on a prospect we got Fellaini, don't blame Moyes, blame our lack of finance.

Every person is different. Therefore Stones have a different type of potential than any other player. Now, watch him evolve in a blue shirt! I'm glad he picked us.

Good enough old enough is a lazy adage mate, not to mention a load of ****. You can have all the talent in the world but when you've got zero top flight experience, very little experience with your team mates and are in the very early stages of settling in, at 18, the last thing you want is to make a game changing mistake, have to apologise and then not only prove yourself to the manager, but prove yourself doubly to your team mates and win over the fans.

He's 18, let him get used to this new world he's in before piling pressure upon his young shoulders.

I'd say at least 50% of defending is down to decision making and as Dues says, you need experience in order to be a good player. Just give the kid time.

but whatever you say how many players has moyes brought through over the last 10 years, its ok giving them time etc etc, but his record with young players is pretty abysmal
