This will sound harsh, but better they kill themselves than wait until they lose it completely and involve others.
As a psychologist, how would 'you' justify, to them, what they've done? I couldn't justify it to myself.
The powers that be can claim what they like as to the reasons for the soldiers actions being necessary, but it's not them that has to sit alone, in the darkness. As long as the corporations can make their billions in rebuilding projects and the military complex's budget isn't affected, that's all that really matters. -
