Who's in control?....

We think we are, but in reality we live in a fantasy world where we have the 'illusion' of being in control of our lives.

we spend far too much time stressing and worrying about things we can't influence, rather than focusing on the things we can.

We also waste far to much energy making ourselves miserable thinking about things we want that we haven't got, rather than being grateful for what we have already - the transfer window is a classic example of this. I've followed Everton my whole life and, looking back, there have been many seasons where our squad was nowhere near the quality we have now.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, that anyone posts on here is going to make the slightest bit of difference to who we do or don't sign, ........unless Moyes has a nervous breakdown and starts posting on here with the rest of us dick_heads! Maybe Davie should start a poll on who to s_punk our money on in the summer, cos obviously most of us have far greater tactical knowledge than him!

I have a huge amount of respect for Moyes, yes he's well paid, but who else on here has their performance judged by millions and is openly criticised by so many? F'kin hell if my work performance was so openly judged by so many the stress would kill me.......

Which brings me back to my point, who's in control of their own lives - no one, you just think you are!

I was speaking to mate on Tuesday and a colleague yesterday morning  - I can't speak to either of them today as they're both dead. (no Bull)

My mate was a real happy go lucky type, never stressed about anything much as far as I can make out, lived life to the full - knocked of his motorbike yesterday.

My colleague was a real stress head, was under pressure at work and was basically miserable and never happy - found dead yesterday afternoon, suspected heart attack, with his head in an exam study book at his desk.

So be happy, or be miserable it's up to you....... but don't think you're in control, cos you're not, and eventually you'll end up in the same place as everyone else - on a slab.

    oh, and I don't care if you think I'm a c_ock, because I'm a happy c_ock. I'm happy with what we've got, and I'm happy that I'm still here!

Puts it all in perspective mate.

Think there's a lesson in there for us all. Worrying about millionaire footballers coming or going

And so sorry for your losses......

    Thanks for the comments,

It's a weird one, because the biker 'really' enjoyed his time and he went out doing something enjoyed a lot. He's a loss to me but i feel less sorry for him in a way, because he was always happy and having fun.

The other chap, being honest, is not a loss to me personally. Not being horrible, he was someone I knew but not on a social level. He always seemed to be moaning and miserable about just about everything - but in reality, probably didn't really realise just how lucky he was compared to many people. I feel more sorry for him, as he basically died of stress in effect (assuming it was a heart attack - but this is highly likely)

Stay happy! enjoy life!.... we've still got Felli, we've still got Bainsey, We've signed a star of the future and we're all still F'kin Breathing !!!!

this thread should be a sticky at the top of the list. some of the absolute garbage and bile spouted on this board in recent days is shown up for the self-infulgent nonsense it really is in comparison to these couple of posts.

sorry for your losses mate, we should all count our blessings.

    Alternatively,

mope about like a miserable f_ucker, because we haven't  s_punked money on a sick note who you'd never heard of a week ago!    .... and then die a cold lonely death, with Goth's turning up at your funeral playing the smiths on repeat

Whatever takes your fancy really !!!

Only today matey, only today..... having two people you know, who are the same age as you, die on the same day in totally un-related incidents is kinda sobering!!
