But a deal HAD been done! we agreed the fee. It was just the medical that went t*ts up. If the club hadnt put anything on the site, people would have noticed a reasonably high profile player coming in to Goodison, media would have been asking questions, the club isn't going to turn around and say "no comment", people would be kicking off why the club is keeping quiet about it etc.
IMO it was the right thing to do - they even made a point of saying that it was subject to the player passing a medical! -
