Don't know the details but good news. He's been fairly solid this season.

Happy about the news. He's a great player ...unless he's against Suarez

Exactly, it's only 1 year so that's fair.

    Well done, deserves it!

Will go down as one of the best we have had in the last 10 years.... Not always had the respect he deserves, been so consistent, few mistakes yes, but not many in the prem is better than him..   well done dists....

he rarely gets beaten for pace, is strong and a good tackler. no brainer really hes the only one of our back four with any real pace.

If he still has more speed than most of the other defenders, why offer him only a one year contract? He is not going to turn into a knacker in that length of time. I want him to stay until he retires. He's great.

There are plenty of Italian players approaching 40. Distin is French, which is almost exactly the same thing.

Mind games? Me? I find it a treacherous game of chance dealing with my own mind. I consider my brain to be the enemy within- a pouting diva of an organ, demanding indeterminate doses of instant gratification, on pain of undermining itself, to my cost, for its own glee.

If EFC had offered Distin a two or three-year contract, this may have been more attractive to him, so that could have been counterbalanced with a lower wage. As it is, he may leave on a free in a year, to see out his career in the USA or China, leaving us with the need to find a replacement, which will cost £5-10m. I hope he carries on at Everton for years.
