Spurs did us a huge favour tonight

Spurs took two points of our friendly neighbours from down the East Lancs Road tonight. If we win tomorrow we'll be 16 points behind MU with half the season remaining. The pessimists will say that MU won't drop more than 16 points between now and the end of the season but don't forget that in 1998 Arsenal were 12 points behind MU at the end of Feb and they won the league. People have got to stop believing that MU have some mystical aura. They are were they are because they've worked hard. Having said that it all started with one lucky signing- Eric Cantona. Its frustrating to hear so many Evertonians complain about a lack of signings and ask how many players we need to sign to break into the top four. Everton are a very good team now and we only need to make one signing, a new Eric Cantona, to be champions let alone top 4.

i actually agree mate, i was sat round the dinner table tonight and i said exactly the same thing. We are 2 players short of winning the league.

We have massively under achieved this season, and we should see our selves comfortably on the coat tails of the 2 manchester clubs, if we had those couple of players, we would be.

We're doing just fine. Some points away from the very top, if we just shut down those draws we deserve to be up there. And the way is keep up the good work and make it better and the end of the season we will achieve great work. Let's lighten up the atmosphere for our one and only squad of lads. Fans doing a great job anyways, well after what I've seen on TV, keep it up. COYB NSNO.

No. Nobody from 4rd down to 7th has a better first 11 than us, we should be aiming for 3rd....not aiming for 4th and seeing that horrible Collina being called out of retirement again.

some of you lads are seeing this with rose tinted glasses.  third place?  You honestly have that expectation?  With the budget Everton has, we are hugely over-achieving competing for a fourth place finish.  Just look at the transfer budget the clubs above and below us have.

The one thing we have going for us is David Moyes.  He has assembled a terrific squad considering his paltry transfer budget.  The gaffer is well worth his £4m salary I'd say.

I'd agree if we didn't draw many of those games we should've won. We've dropped too many points and even did so last week. Regardless, there's no shame in a top5 finish and it'll be a major letdown if we fall out of that.

    what's wrong with you people??

how can we be over achieving when we have drawn about 7 games we should have won??

we ARE MASSIVELY UNDER ACHIEVING this season. We should be definitely above Chelsea with out a doubt, and on the coat tails of the top 2. I said before the season started we could win the league....i firmly believe if we can keep the whole squad fit for a whole season and add a couple of players then there is every chance.

Whoever said that City's manager fails them is right and this Hoodoo that the other Manchester club are invincible needs to be broken because they are not.....Vidic and Ferdinand are coming to the end, Van Persie and Rooney are not gettign any younger and Evra isnt far off getting past his best.......

I agree with TonyD when he say's its a bit of a joke that we accept that its ok to finish 5th or 6th, yeah we are finishing in the right area of the league by doing this, but us as fans should expect and want more.......its like we are using our financial position as an excuse not to get behind the team and be positive,,,,,what;s the atmosphere like when we were playing the teams around us in the league at Goodison? Then tell me what its like when we are playing the teams in the bottom half......EXACTLY.

Think some times people forget that WE ARE EVERTON.
