which poses the question why bring him back from loan... and why put him on the bench and not use him during a 5-1 demolition of lower league opposition...

Moyes is not great with youth...

Because both Gibson and Neville were both injured at the time and we needed some sort of backup in the event of an injury to Hitzlsperger - which didn't happen. We probably aslo wanted to asses how much he had come on from a couple of months at Hillsborough.

Now that Neville is fit again, and Hitzlsperger is properly match fit, it's best for Barkley to go off again. I'd like to think it may also be an indication that we know someone else is coming in

And Leeds is exactly the type of loan I wanted for him - as long as he gets in the team.

Did we bring him back from loan? I thought the loan deal ran out but was expected to be extended or another agreed but we didn't take any of those options because Fellaini was banned and Gibson was injured.

Could be wrong but I'd say we brought him back from his loan because of being a few players down in midfield.

Agree on not giving him a run our against cheltenham though, that was odd.

I agree Leeds is a much better prospect for him... will be good to see how he gets on in an established team that isn't fighting a relegation scrap...

The debate about weather Moyes should be playing him or not is irrelevant. As many people have pointed out, the fact the lad didnt get any football on Monday night shows Moyes currently has no intention of playing him in the first team, a first team that is bang in form. So, rather than let him sit on the sidelines hes opted to send him out on loan again. Good move

maybe he didn't play him cos he knew this loan was in the offing? if he gets injured, he doesn't go and doesn't get valuable experience.

Just being part of the squad on match day is good experience for the young lads.

Wouldn't mind getting that Sam Byram lad off Leeds themselves! Would be a good future right back/winger in the future linking up with Coleman! Maybe loaning Barkley to them now to help them with a playoffs push might put us in the good books if we decide to bid on Byram in the future!

Think he'll do really well in a team that plays a higher brand of football. I reckon he learnt a lot about mental strength with SW constently fighting at the wrong end of the table, but he'll learn more quality wise and speed of mind at leeds as he's picking out quicker runs from more movement around him. This could well be a massively good move in the boys career... or he may be sat on their bench instead.

If that was the true case, why when we were chasing the game against Chelsea and we had them pegged in did he turn to Barkley?

Stop looking at things in isolation, there is a much bigger picture as far as this lad is concerned, Moyes has said about four times this season they are working him toward the first team throughout the season, i fully believe it is with a view to next season and finishing the season with Leeds should do for him what Blackpool did for Seamus

I know pal, I don't get sometimes though how people can be so blinkered.....it's exhausting reading some threads on here when some of the pugilists try and talk football!

yes i know, i try an avoid the place best i can on match day if we don;t win....its almost unbearable. i know people need to let off steam etc, but some times some of the strange things that get said just beggar belief.

Smigone.....if you actually read my post youll see I think this is a positive move by moyes. Ok so well done for recognising he came on for ten mins against chelsea, thats fantastic. BUT, hes not going to be playing reguarly so hes been sent back out on loan to gain even more valuable first team football and experience. So whats your problem?

Just wait until Moyes leaves and he'll be able to do a job for us, with all that relegation scrap experience.

Wasn't just directed at you but you generalised the feeling of him not apparently being in Moyes plans because he didn't get a run out on Monday, that's why i highlighted that bit in particular, cos it seems people are completely ignoring the facts outside of that one game. To be honest those ten minutes against Chelsea show more about Moyes' belief in him than not giving him a run in a dead rubber.

Sorry pal wasn't isolating you but that bit stuck out and people writing him off just smacks of someone else to pick on now Rodwell has gone and  Seamus and Vic seem to have begun to blossom into what we expected

some times people just need time.

Baiens and Osman examples of that, both got better and better as their careers have gone on.....some people jsut expect some young players to be world beaters from the moment they step onto the pitch.
