Interesting times sambo.... they did an occupysteubenville demonstration on Saturday. 2,000 people descended on that small town and demonstrated on the steps of the town hall.

40,000 plus people watched online via a live stream....paid for by Roseanne Barr (yes, that one, I_shit you not!). People phoned up the local pizza places in steubenville and sent pizza to those demonstrating in the cold.... someone even sent a domino's order round from Australia.

Small town justice meets the internetz.

    very interesting thread

good to see hackers using their skill in a positive way

clever hackers with common sense = very powerful

they could achieve anything if they done it properly, and anonymous are paving the way

Great news. What a horrible little ogre that boy is.

He is a loughsome little toad, yes.

But he does seem to be getting more abuse that those who it is alleged planned, drugged and those that performed the rape. Assuming he didn't, and there is speculation and legal evidence to point either way.

He seems to be the poster boy for the whole thing which is a touch harsh. He also appears to be the one in their gang who verbalises in a comic way, cleary black humour here, the events surrounding the social group. And you could argue that events he is verbalising have spiralled, shockingly, out of control there while they were all very drunk on their high school leaving party.

Just playing devils advocate... but someone indulging in drunken black humour descriptions of a shocking situation purely for that effect... for shock value... its not a crime. But it does make for a vomit inducing sound track to this whole story.

To be honest though, you could argue the most important thing Micheal Nodianos has done is ensure that anonymous's global PR campaign on this issue was successful. Without that video... I'm not sure it would have reached anything like this audience.

He's not the sort of gent you want running around your university campus though is he?

    no mate, not at all.

and to be 'seemingly' happy that the girl could possibly have been dead, and the fact he 'seems' happy that she had been raped, drugged etc, i think whatever is coming his was is completely justified.

But i do agree, he is the fall guy because of his mouth. Let's just hope his mouth is enough to incriminate the rest of the crew and they all get the punishment they seemingly deserve.

Interesting article... and also worth noting that the "Full story" link in the OP is still being added to and has been since I posted it here.

Text interview with the anon responsible (Editor In Chief) for localleaks.me.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michealene-cristini-risley/a-conversation-with-anony_b_2433813.html

It is a bit OTT and there always seen to be an ago issue with anonymous as being anonymous doesn't lend itself to having an ago.

Hence the whole Gregg Housh, namefag, Barrett Brown debate... (I hope the latter gets the justice he deserves in court soon!)

Wish he didn't say anarchists at the end though.... thats badly gay.

    developments....

Twitter suspends kightsec's @kyanonymous twitter account. The main guy behind #oprollredroll

Lots of uproar, Twitter (as I understand it) is yet to comment.

Also, late last night a video was release claiming to be from th3j35t3r (the jester) stating that this thing wasn't really an anonymous campaign and that these people were now going after kyanonymous in #opfreeredroll on account of the personal information of innocent people that has been released.

th3j35t3r denied any involvment within 5 mins of the video being released, via his twitter feed and blog.

Whilst this is not unusual having gained global recognition for an operation (so many do not make it off the ground, let alone succeed) for it to be immediately followed by this sort of unsightly, embarrassing and ultimately very messy and gay situation. It is though, a strength of the anonymous group.

It looks bad, it generally descends into some very bad levels of 'serious business' on the internetz.....but it does muddy the water a whole lot. People don't know what is going on, who is doing what or why. Disinformation reigns, those that did good things seemingly get time to make good their escape while the mess slowly implodes behind them. I doubt many middle aged cops charged with looking into this mess as it unfolds to see if laws had been broken would know where to start.

the job of highlighting the case has already been done and this was the quest from the beginning i think though?

It has. And it needed doing. Was the letter of the law broken in doing that? You'd imagine so. Do the people who did this, on the anonymous side, need to get away without going to prison?

I believe it would be better for us all if they did remain at large.... free to do get involved with other good things that anonymous do.

Everyone in Lulzsec was caught. though to be fair, the FBI not only went throw the kitchen sink at that they have also incriminated themselves to an alarming degree.

I hope this lot get away and that a fair trial can be had for that girl. The the attention Local leaks has got from this is huge and the success of localleaks going forward could be massive!

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. If the charges change, if any anon's face prosecution. That town won't be the same though will it!

There will be many more causes in need of localleaks... and a lot of them won't have Mr Nodianos to help with the marketing. Still, more and more people will be aware of their work when they see the name next time.

Also, th3 J35t3r dos'ing Jihadist websites using his XerXes programme. This guy openly has an anti-anonymous stance (but people who earn their living from public sector and defense budgets for their day job tend to, as not only do they know who he is, but he very likely trades off the fact).

Generally, he doesn't take any action on it. And as the westboro baptist church posted by Sambo demonstrates, he takes the opportunity to collaborate where interests won't reflect badly on his own business interests.

Ohio's attorney general has revealed that student witnesses for the
prosecution during a preliminary hearing in the Steubenville rape case
had not been granted immunity, rebuking statements from defense lawyers
for the two Steubenville High football players accused of assaulting a
16-year-old girl — and throwing open the possibility that testimony
could be used against at least three more members of the Big Red team.

just having a read now mate.......it sounds like (i may be wrong) that they have squealed thinking they will escape any kind if punishment......now unlikely that will be the case......and then, they have to look their 'so called' mates in the eye knowing that they have tried to drop them in it by attempting to wash their hands of any blame them selves by pointing the finger else where.

If i wasn;t reading it with my own 2 eyes, you literally couldn;t make this sort of **** up lol

I don't like the way that the Hanlin woman who is a local attorney (her son is one of the three, one of the assults took place in her house) is on the scene when two students think they are being testified against with impunity by three others....only to find that the impunity does not exist and the three that would have got off scot free are now....because of outside inspection... not going to.

That whole 'impunity assumption' stinks to high heaven.... how many defence lawyers just say "oh well, your screwed, I assume they'll have impunity so lets just prepared for prison... those guys are home free now....lets move on"

You have to think a number of police and legal people have been purposely led to that conclusion, misdirected even.

Howdy, Stranger!
