Breaking news here is that Everton FC are planning a sensational move for Swansea City’s outstanding striker Michu (26)should they lose the talismanic Marouanne Fellaini during this month’s transfer window.

Everton manager David Moyes is tonight in London scouting Swansea City against Chelsea ahead of the home game this weekend, but is also taking in Michu’s potential as a strike partner to Nikica Jelavic.

The controversial Fellaini is a target for several of Europe’s elite clubs following his agent’s revelation that a release clause in his contract would allow him to leave the Merseyside club for as little as £22m (€27m). Moyes is resigned to receiving a bid within days for the attacking midfielder who is the club’s top scorer this season and then it would be in the player’s hands whether he would wait until the summer to consider his career.

Should Fellaini opt for the big time, it is thought a bid of £14m (€17.1m) would sorely tempt a Swansea side to part with their lethal striker.

The much travelled Miguel Pérez Cuesta (Michu) is thought to be an ambitious player looking towards playing European football, and an approach by the Premier League’s fifth place team may be an attractive proposition.
