quite a few people rated him when he was with us, but like a lot of our youngsters didnt really ever get a chance, currently a target of reading, been performing very well at lower level , cant see vellios lasting another season, duffys not really getting a look in, and as mentioned last night at 4-1 moyes preferred to bring on gueye, naismith and hitz rather than giving barkley or vellios or duffy a run out, the likes of garbutt , hope, mcaleny and a few more will probably be moved on to lower league clubs in a season or 2 and we will have a few more good young players coming through who will never get a look in, this impressive youth set up we got hasnt really produced anything special, youngsters will start looking elsewere, it was said teams like everton are getting the best of english talent as youngsters see they have a better chance of making it as they dont get a look in at the bigger clubs, probably teams like man utd , arsenal and the RS etc bring through a hell of a lot more than we do. or is it a case of young english talent isnt that good .

I have yet to see any of these released teenagers prove us wrong!

Vellios will enter the last year of his contract next Summer - so we'll probably be trying to get a few spondoodles for him then!

We've brought some good youngsters in in Green and Kennedy. We will know when them youngsters cut through! Patience is key here, we've got a 1st team in 12/13, who knows what happens in 13/14. COYB NSNO.

to be fair sambo jags and baines where released as scoolboys i believe could be wrong, and it  did take a few seasons to prove they where up to the task at lower clubs but to sell someone for buttons then buy him back the next season aka Ince but for an extra 5 million is a joke lol again proves how much of a genius moyes is and how much of a joke Daglish is seem to remember Ruud Gullit doing something similar to dalglish at newcastle spending money on pure sh**te and being hounded out the club and never getting a decent job since yet the morons still call him King Kenny haha

Barca have got to be the club worst stung when it comes to buying back players with Pique and Fabregas alone costing about 40 million!

apologies if i've touched a nerve.

rodwell, rooney, barkley are all high profile products of our youth system, amongst a number of others plying their trade lower down the leagues. would suggest that something is going right wth the academy, wouldn't it ?

arsenal a better bet for bringing young players through ?

rooney left afer a season how many years ago?only good thing about rodwell was the fee we got, as for barkley come back to me when hes playing regularly, im talking about now and we havent really produced anyone whos broke into the first team and is a regular last one was probably rooney then hibbert and osman long ago, nobody really become a regular over the last few years from our youth set up, as for wba you posted 3 times on the same player and if hes not good enough for WBA hes not good enough for us , never commented on WBA players who are regulars.
