    I know. And I did say I'm in 2 minds.

    But. We've never had a big squad. Yet the season we had our longest run in Europa when we played Fiorentina in the quarter finals, we finished 5th in the league and also got to the semi finals of league cup. So it doesn't automatically follow that we'd be poor in the league if we're in Europa.

    It doesn't automatically equal a bad season but on average, it's far more detrimental to the league campaigns to those in it than not. Unless you have a decent squad.

    Didn't zenit win it that year, a team we had beaten in the group, we were good in every comp that year don't see why we couldn't be again.

    Bring it on. EL means more matches against different teams from exotic places, like France. It makes revenue, so the club can afford a couple of extra players. Euro footy is good.

    I concur.

    Didn't make the euro nights in the 80's at goodison but I've never witnessed anything like fiorantina game at GP.

    The crowd/buzz was amazing that night.Frickin' Yaks stupid pen,don't start me off.

    Cant forget either, the coldest night ive ever experienced at Goodison when we played Bate Borisov (i think) and we had our reserve and youth players playing with Carlo Nash in goal. There was hardly anyone there, we were screaming for the Ref to blow up for full time with 20 mins to go it was that cold. Then the 4th official gave the 3mins extra time ffs!!!! Nightmare and we lost 1-0, couldnt give a damn that night if we'd lost 10-0......

    People who don't want us to be in the Europa League are arrogant. Some fantastic teams are in the Europa and it is arrogant of people to believe their club is too good for the competition. I would be delighted if we qualified for the Europa League, as we have had some brilliant European nights over recent years.

    I would love us to have another crack at the Europa i thought we were going to win it last time. I also think Moyes signing his contract is predicated by getting into Europe as well, he is always talking about it and firmly believes our club should be playing in European competitions every season, which asks a lot of a small squad but come on, two games a week isn't pushing it really is it?
