Victor's Latics deal won't be hamstrung?.....

Breaking news here is that Liverpool based Champions League hopefuls, Everton FC are on the verge of using rebel striking powerhouse Victor Anichebe (24) as a dealmaker in the pursuit of Wigan’s spectacular midfielder James McCarthy (22).

Anichebe has not been seen in or around the Everton FC first team since he mysteriously disappeared from the substitute’s bench prior to a game against Fulham FC in early November. Since then, what seems to be the longest running ‘hamstring injury’ has prevented his return to action and his manager, the combative David Moyes, has remained tight lipped on the Nigerian’s Everton future.

Whilst we cannot reveal the dressing room secrets surrounding Anichebe’s relationship at the club, we can reveal that Lancashire based Wigan FC are long term admirers of Anichebe’s pace and goals per game statistics. Everton, meanwhile, are looking to add guile and steel to their midfield and see Scottish born, Irish international McCarthy as a typical Moyes’ type of player.

A swap may well be on the cards, with a cash adjustment of some £2m (€2.5m) being sent to the Latics to help Chairman David Whelan to accept the deal.

    More as we get it....

Thanks for letting us know Everton FC are Liverpool based and Wigan FC are Lancashire based.

Altho when you're applying for your coveted position as "Senior Soccer Correspondent" with the NY Times where such detail may be necessary, you might want to promise them that you won't just decide again out of the goodness of your heart not to reveal dressing room secrets. That won't go down too well.

Ignoring the obvious grammatical errors of course... I'm interested to know what "combative" means in the context of a manager...

A stopped clock is right twice a day. And this geezer is due to be right sometime soon. He hasn't been right since he told us all we'd sign Yakubu about 3 days after everyone already knew about it!
