Everton's results against teams expected to be in the top 5/6 so far.....

    Everton 1-0 Man Utd.

Everton 1-1 Arsenal (Unlucky not to win)

    Everton 2-1 Spurs

Everton 1-1 Man City (unlucky not to win)

Chelsea to come at the end of the month could leave us with an impressive looking points total against the 'so called' bigger teams. The results so far, should give the team confidence that we are as good, if not better on our day than any team in the top 5 or 6, if we can get that mentality in to the players where we can beat them and then beat the 'so called' lesser teams, an AMAZING season isnt too far away for us.

We need to start dispatching the teams that are directly below us and we can have a superb season still. COYB!

The 'so called' lesser teams might see us as a 'so called' bigger opponent and do extra work against us and that's why we get these kind of results - just have a feeling it's something like that.

So our boys have to deal with these kind of 'so called' lesser teams that are hard-working-against-us. What does it take to deal with such teams?

And in fairness you can stick the RS in there, even if its just because their fans think they should be up there....so 2-2.

Suarez shoulda been out in that game. Therefore more than one point. Still amazed we came back from 2 down!

to be honest i dont think its the strongest league weve seen and its the best chance we got of getting in the top 4 this season, the RS are very poor and there in a decent position now, if we can string another 4/5 wins together i think we could pull away from 5th spot as nobody below us look capable of putting a string of good results together :)

We get results like that every year, its the ones below that always lets us down:

    Everton 1-1 Norwich
    Wigan 2-2 Everton
Fulham 2-2 Everton (played like barca)
    QPR 1-1 Everton
    Reading 2-1 Everton

the main thing from the last 3 games (Arsenal, City & Spurs) is we've shown we belong in the fight for 4th spot.....and we're as good as anyone in the league.....all we need now is some luck.......a few injuries and we might start to struggle, so hopefully our key players stay fit for the season....
add to that, we've yet to see the best form from Jelavic (hopefully that starts now), Baines & PIenaar.....and hopefully Mirallas is back again next week.....
we should have a comfortable lead over Spurs & Arsenal at this stage, but we're still in 4th and we deserve to be there.....

Yeah, I remember (if correct) these last few seasons there's usually some amount of points in difference from 5th to 4th, especially when we finished 5th a couple of times.
I see something here, with a good run, we'll have some good distance in 4th place away from 5th, and keep track of 3rd and at best 2nd! (Who knows how 1st spot is close this season) Still going strong, Gibson back, Mira11as soon back to full fitness, there's only good sign now on and beyond Christmas! COYB.

Hopefully as 4 of those games were away from home we can pick up the slack in the home games

We play better against 'top teams' cos they don't 'park the bus'.

Its against the teams who sh0-te themselves when we turn up,defend like demons & hit us on the break,we suffer.

Davey needs to adjust tactically to accomodate counter attacking, defensive teams who are only after a point.
